Long Island Museum Open House

Long Island Museum of History, Art & Carriages, 1200 Rt. 25-A, Stony Brook, NY

Contemporary decoy carvers will demonstrate their skills and share stories of waterfowl hunting, once a mainstay of Long Island life. Exhibitions on view include Bayman’s Art, our decoy gallery, the LIMarts members exhibition Siver Linings: Artists Search for Meaning, Elias Pelletreau: Long Island Silversmith and Entrepreneur, and Shaping Sliver: Contemporary Silversmithing.

Stuart Markus will be singing sea chanteys and maritime ballads, and Larry Moser will be performing other traditional music.

It all takes place in the Studio Building on Blydenburgh Lane. Admission is free all day. Sponsored in part by Long Island Traditions.
